The Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, together with the Russian Space Systems Holding (RKS, part of the Roscosmos State Corporation), from November 16 to 20, 2020, is holding the 18th All-Russian Open Conference “Modern Problems of Remote Sensing of the Earth from Space (Physical Foundations, methods and technologies for monitoring the environment, potentially dangerous phenomena and objects) “.
On November 20, 2020, on the basis of the Scientific Center for Operational Monitoring of the Earth, an online meeting will be held on the topic “The Russian system of satellite observations and technologies: state and development prospects.” Its participants will be invited to consider the latest projects of on-board equipment for Earth remote sensing (ERS), the possibility of targeted use of the orbital group of ERS spacecraft, complex solutions of applied problems that are most relevant to ensure the digital transformation of society.
The meeting will be attended by specialists from the largest organizations in Russia working on the creation of ERS spacecraft, means of their ground control and receiving information and software for processing the received data. The key topic of the conference this year is the technological basis for the formation and delivery of products and services based on the results of space activities to consumers.
RKS is working on the implementation of modern Russian information management systems in most regions of the country. These are infrastructural solutions developed by the company based on the use of modern space navigation and time, geodetic and hydrometeorological technologies, as well as communication, control, relay and remote sensing technologies. They will ensure the functioning of digital governments created in the regions and their federal integration. In addition, the spread of these technologies will make it possible to intensively develop new high-tech areas in the economy.
In parallel, the holding is working on the creation of software products based on remote sensing data. In the coming years, with the support of the company in various regions of the country, it is planned to launch pilot projects in the field of monitoring transport, dangerous goods, forestry, subsoil use, monitoring the condition of buildings and structures, as well as controlling the targeted use of land.
