Even the most expensive brush can be useless if you don’t follow the correct brushing technique. Dentist Ekaterina Dronova spoke about this in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
“It’s not enough just to have the most expensive, advertised toothbrush and toothpaste, it is important to know the very technique of brushing your teeth and understand the end result,” the doctor said. She also explained that the procedure for brushing teeth is to remove soft plaque from the surface of the cheeks, tongue, palate, as well as from the chewing and contact surfaces of the teeth.
At the same time, according to Dronova, the working head of the brush covers only 2-2.5 teeth. And in order to achieve a clean oral cavity, you need to make 5-10 sweeping movements for each tooth.
Earlier, a dentist from Malaysia named the optimal amount of paste required for brushing teeth. He emphasized that too much product is squeezed onto the brush in advertising. This, in turn, can lead to fluorosis, a disease in which white spots appear on the surface of the tooth.
