In Collier, Florida, USA, dogs and a cyclist helped a woman avoid being killed in the mouth of an angry black bear (baribal). WINK News reports.
The incident took place on the morning of December 24 on Christmas Eve. Kathleen Boyle was walking two West Highland White Terriers named Bear and Robin on a leash and spotted two cubs. The American understood that their mother was somewhere nearby. She tried to escape and ran into an adult bear.
Miniature pets began to protect the mistress from the 180-kg predator. According to Boyle, her dog Bear rushed into the battle first and grabbed the bear’s belly. The predator grabbed the dog with her teeth, lifted it off the ground and threw it. At that moment, Robin came to the rescue. She also bit the animal’s belly.
Boyle decided to protect her dogs and began to beat the bear. At that moment, the dogs ran to the side. As soon as the predator was about to pounce on the woman, a cyclist came up from behind. He saw what was happening and screamed loudly. “She found herself between two screaming people, got scared and ran away,” Boyle recalls. “If it weren’t for the cyclist, I don’t know how it would have ended.”
The dog named Bear has serious wounds. The pet received medical attention and is now recovering.
Earlier, the American Kaleb Benham fought with a bear tried to drag his dog Buddy away. As a result, the man won, and the predator released the pet.
