Rosstat disclosed data on officials’ salaries in 2019. According to them, the average salary of civilian civil servants last year amounted to 60.2 thousand rubles, which is 12.9 percent higher than a year earlier, reports TASS citing Rosstat data.
The average salary of civil servants in the central offices of federal government agencies increased by 10.6 percent than in 2018 and amounted to 140 thousand rubles. Salaries of municipal employees increased by eight percent and reached 45.5 thousand rubles.
The number of civil servants at the end of 2019 in Russia amounted to 727.5 thousand people. Among them, 688.3 thousand were civil servants at the regional level (excluding central offices), of which 484.5 thousand people in federal state bodies, 203.8 thousand people in regional state bodies. A year ago, 296.1 thousand employees worked in the municipal service.
Earlier, the deputies of two rural settlements of the Ulyanovsk region refused to adopt the budget for 2021 and demanded to reduce the salaries of officials, after which they wanted to disperse them. According to the deputies, all the money is spent on the maintenance of officials who do not want to reduce their salaries or refuse a personal driver. In turn, the governor Sergei Morozov threatened to disperse the village councils in court.
