Russians will be able to choose a Covid-19 vaccine

The authorities hope that all Russians in the near future will be able to choose which of the vaccines to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. This was reported in an interview with RIA Novosti Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

When asked whether Russians will have the opportunity to choose a drug with the advent of each new vaccine, Golikova answered in the affirmative. “Probably, it will not be in January, but in the first quarter we hope that it will be so,” the Deputy Prime Minister explained.

There are several COVID-19 vaccines in the world today. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The USA and Great Britain also began to inoculate the population with the drug companies Pfizer / BioNTech. In addition, the drug developed by Moderna was approved in the country. British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has also announced the start of clinical trials for a combination of its AZD1222 vaccine.
