Chapter Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said that she was called by telephone scammers. Speaking about her communication experience, she clarified that the attackers tried to find out her bank card details and used a bot, reports RIA Novosti .
“They called, by the way, which struck, the scammers are apparently so advanced. They had bots that said in such a metallic, mechanical voice that” if you did not transfer money to such and such a card, press such and such the “” button, – said Nabiullina.
She emphasized that she hung up and reminded everyone to do the same in a similar situation. “You have the phone number that the bank gave you, call and find out if there are any problems,” she said and urged not to transfer her data during suspicious calls.
Earlier on Monday, December 28, Kommersant newspaper revealed a new method of fraud before the New Year. Attackers call potential victims posing as bank employees and offer a lucrative loan, which is not yet on the site. Then the victim is invited to follow the link. Outwardly, this site looks like a personal account in a bank, where the client enters his username and password, and his account immediately becomes available to fraudsters.
