A sailor from Sierra Leone was on board a ship that sank in Barents Sea

A sailor from Sierra Leone (West Africa) was on board the fishing vessel “Onega”, which sank in the Barents Sea. This was reported to RIA Novosti by a source familiar with the situation.

As it became known earlier, most of the fishermen were natives of the Murmansk region. In addition, there were sailors from the Ivanovo and Kursk regions on board, as well as natives of the former Soviet republics who came from the Dnipropetrovsk, Brest and Minsk regions.

There were 19 people on board. According to preliminary data, two survived.
