Moscow’s reaction to summons of Russian ambassador to Israeli Foreign Ministry saw a contradiction

Israel saw a contradiction in Moscow’s response to the summons of its ambassador Anatoly Viktorov in Israeli MFA . This is stated in the article The Jerusalem Post.

The publication drew attention to the comments of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova , which expressed surprise at “[Israel’s] heightened reaction to the questions raised in the interview.” The ministry pointed out that Viktorov’s words, which angered the Israeli authorities, were stated out of context.

However, The Jerusalem Post indicates that in fact Zakharova repeated his words. Thus, both the Foreign Ministry spokesman and the Russian ambassador pointed to problems in Palestinian-Israeli relations. In addition, Zakharova claimed that the position stated in the interview “was repeatedly communicated to Israeli colleagues at various levels.”

December 9 Viktorov was summoned to the Israeli Foreign Ministry. There he was presented with claims because of the words that Israel’s failure to comply with the resolutions UN on the conflict with Palestine is a more serious problem for the region than Iran’s participation in the wars.

Israel in early July 2020 began preparations for the operation to annex the West Bank. These plans were soon temporarily shelved due to the coronavirus pandemic. After 1967, Israeli settlements were established in Judea and Samaria in the West Bank. UN Security Council considers these territories to be occupied and Israel to be disputed. p >
