The transition to distance learning is not a reason to reduce fees in universities, because the declared lectures were delivered, albeit remotely. This was stated by the head of Ministry of Education Valery Falkov , reports RIA Novosti on Monday, December 28th.
“We have repeatedly approached this until they [decisions on a national scale] have been worked out, since everything that is proposed will lead to even worse consequences than we have today. We can bring down the economy of universities and get a situation where they will begin to close, “he said, assessing the need for discounts on university tuition amid the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the minister, we can only talk about reducing the cost of training if the number of hours is reduced or the perception of information becomes impossible. According to him, all 724 Russian universities could not start teaching 10 percent equally worse.
Previously, about 200 students Moscow State University (MSU) named after Lomonosov demanded to return them some of the money for their tuition in 2020.
According to the text of the lawsuit, due to the spring restrictions, students were deprived of the opportunity not only to attend lectures, but also to use the Moscow State University library and to contact teachers personally, although this is provided for by the contract. It also puts forward other requirements, in particular, the recalculation of the cost of living for students in the hostel and the abolition of fees for those who left for the duration of the restrictions.
