A soldier Alexander Zherebtsov , who got drunk on vodka and, together with a friend, demolished the fence airport in an infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) in the Volgograd region, was punished by depriving the driver’s license and fined 30 thousand rubles. This was reported by Kommersant citing the court decision.
According to the materials of the case, five hours after what happened in the body of corporal Zherebtsov, “the content of absolute ethyl alcohol at a concentration of 0.71 milligrams per liter of exhaled air was found.” He told the military prosecutor of the garrison that he started drinking even before he got into the BMP, and continued at the wheel.
The BMP had to be relocated from one unit to another. According to one of the versions, a drunken soldier and a friend left behind the column and decided to shorten the path, but got lost and drove into the airport territory, having demolished a fence on their way.
As a result, corporal Zherebtsova was deprived of the right to drive not only military, but also civilian vehicles. According to the case file, he violated paragraph 2.7 of the traffic rules, according to which the driver is prohibited from driving while intoxicated. It was decided not to bring his friend to administrative responsibility.
The incident became known in October. There was published a video on the network showing how the BMP is approaching a concrete fence with barbed wire, pierces it and drives into a closed area. Two people are standing on top of the combat vehicle at this time.
