The quality of distance learning in Russia is worse than full-time, said the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov . His words are reported by RIA Novosti .
“It’s one thing when we talk live, and another thing when on TV,” he admitted. Falkov also called distance learning a compulsory measure. According to the minister, technologies have changed, but the work of teachers has not decreased.
The decision to extend the distance after February 6 at universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg, according to him, will be made after the New Year holidays.
Earlier in Ministry of Education made the decision to transfer all universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg to distance learning in connection with the spread of COVID-19 until February 2021. According to Dmitry Afanasyev, deputy head of the Ministry of Education and Science, about 55 percent of students in Russian universities study remotely.
