More than half of parents talked about unprecedented backlog of schoolchildren

53 percent of parents told about the “unprecedented” backlog of children in the school curriculum reports RBC citing the research of the group of services “Action Education”.

School leaders from 65 regions of the country also took part in the survey. Almost half of them (47 percent) indicated a “minimal” gap, and every fifth said that in his educational institution, children do study according to plan.

At the same time, the directors called the annual summer holidays the reason for the lag, specifying that such a lag is recorded every year. Parents, on the other hand, blame the transition to distance learning and the teachers’ unpreparedness for online classes for this situation.

In November, Deputy Chairman of the Committee State Duma on Education and Science Gennady Onishchenko warned that the transfer to distance learning is only suitable for certain classes and regions, but you cannot send all schools at once. He believes that the decision to close schools and other educational institutions should be made depending on the epidemiological situation in the educational institution. “This is the wrong method, too different country, too different intensity of the epidemic process,” said the former chief sanitary doctor.
