In the US, 19-year-old girl kicked out of the first team of cheerleaders, and then expelled from college for the video four years ago, in which she said the word “nigger”. The video was published by her classmate, reports The New York Post.
“I can drive, niggas (blacks – approx. ” Lenta.ru ” / a>)! ” says Mimi Groves in the video. She sent a three-second clip on Snapchat to her friend. Then the video got to Jimmy Galligan, whose mother is black and his father is white. He complained about the recording to the professors, but they ignored the incident.
All four years, the young man has been waiting for the right moment to publish the video. “I wanted her to understand the seriousness of this word,” Galligan said. At the same time, during the protests of the Black Live Matter movement, Groves supported its activists and urged her followers to do the same, noting that she did not realize what was said several years ago.
Galligan, in turn, admitted that he did not regret publishing the entry. In his opinion, in this way he taught the student a lesson.
At the end of May, protests for the rights of blacks began in the United States under the slogan Black Lives Matter (“Black lives are important”) after the death of a guard George Floyd as a result of a brutal arrest. Soon, the actions of the police became the cause of massive pogroms throughout the country. Protesters reported unfair treatment of blacks.
