The former President of Moldova Igor Dodon is ready to be vaccinated only with the Russian vaccine against coronavirus, because he does not trust foreign drugs. He spoke about this in an interview with TASS .
According to him, so far there is not a single vaccine against coronavirus in Moldova, and the process of its development and implementation in the West now resembles an arms race. At the same time, he noted that he did not intend to take risks and was ready to be vaccinated only with the Russian drug “Sputnik V”.
“I don’t believe these Western counterparts, which were quickly made to show that not only the Russian vaccine exists,” Dodon said. He recommended Moldovan citizens to do the same.
Moldova turned to Russia with a request to supply a vaccine against coronavirus back in August, a few days after the world’s first such drug, Sputnik V, developed at the Gamaleya Center, was registered.
August 21, Dodon said that he wants to become one of the first Moldovan citizens who will experience the Russian vaccine. According to the latest data, more than 142 thousand people have become infected with the coronavirus in Moldova, 2 909 patients became victims of the infection.
