Russian Foreign Ministry named the main foreign policy results of 2020. This is stated on the website department.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that in 2020, Russia’s activities were aimed at international cooperation, promoting the country’s socio-economic development and solving global and regional problems that meet Russian interests.
“The most important area of work in the context of a pandemic of a new coronavirus infection was the organization of the return of over 300 thousand Russian citizens to their homeland and the provision of emergency assistance to those of them who, while abroad, found themselves in a difficult life situation,” the statement said. It is noted that Moscow was also one of the first to help foreign countries in the fight against COVID-19.
Another important outcome of 2020 is the celebration of Victory Day as part of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. It is emphasized that Russia fought in order to prevent falsification of the history of the war and a revision of the assessment of its causes.
