Russians and Ukrainians freed from Libyan captivity

A group of Russians and one citizen of Ukraine have been released from Libyan captivity, said a member of Public Chamber Russia Alexander Malkevich in his Telegram -channel.

He noted that a few weeks ago they were captured and kidnapped in Libya. “Separately, I would like to note that after the story with Maxim Shugaley, the Russians in Libya and in the Arab world as a whole began to be treated much more seriously and much more respectfully,” Malkevich wrote.

Maksim Shugaley and Samer Sueifan employees detained in May 2019 in Libya were released on December 10. They were accused of trying to interfere in the presidential elections in the country and meeting with Saif al-Islam Gaddafi – the son of the former leader of the country Muammar Gaddafi .

At the beginning of 2019, the Foundation for the Protection of National Values ​​launched a project to study public opinion and analyze the current situation in Libya.
