The US President Donald Trump has extended the suspension of issuing a number of categories of work visas to 31 March 2021, reports TASS citing the White House document.
According to the act, the proclamation is extended until March 31 and, if necessary, can be extended. Trump stressed that the coronavirus pandemic continues to negatively affect the sources of income for Americans. In addition, unemployment continues to be recorded in the country.
The proclamations were signed by Trump in April and June 2020. In them, in particular, we are talking about the suspension of the issuance of visas such as H-1B, H-2B, H-4, L and most documents of category J, which give the right to work in the United States.
According to Reuters , many companies oppose this decision. According to the agency, these restrictions were also criticized by the country’s elected president Joe Biden , who did not specify while plans to cancel them.
In October, the US authorities again tightened the issuance of H-1B work visas. In particular, the country will reduce the number of “special professions” for which foreign workers can be hired. It will also increase control over companies that employ a minimum number of employees in the United States on work visas and rely on outsourcing in other countries for their main work.
