Russians were given advice on identifying counterfeit alcohol

Olesya Bunyaeva, director of the Roskachestvo wine production research department, gave advice on identifying counterfeit alcoholic beverages in an interview with the Prime agency.

According to her, you can be sure of the safety and legality of wine or vodka if the purchase is made in a large retail chain.

“There is no illegal alcohol in the legal retail trade today. In 2019, the EGAIS system was brought to a level where each bottle in it is tracked separately. From November 1, 2020, piece accounting has become mandatory for all sellers in Russia,” she said.

Bunyaeva noted that after the EGAIS system was debugged, there was no chance left to run into fake alcoholic beverages. She added that no major chain would risk its reputation, heavy fines and deprivation of a license to sell alcohol of dubious benefits from selling “left vodka”.

Previously, a nutritionist Daria Rusakova noted that to slow down intoxication and weaken a possible hangover is possible by diluting or drinking some alcoholic drinks with water. Water is considered a good solvent, has a diuretic effect and removes harmful substances from the body. Water can be substituted for any other sugar-free drink, but drinking strong alcohol will be ineffective.
