This morning, December 31, 2020, the leadership of the Yu.A. Gagarin and the Russian cosmonauts congratulated the crew of the 64th long-term expedition to the International Space Station on the air. New Year’s greetings and wishes to Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov, Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and NASA astronaut Kathleen Rubins, who were present at the communication session, as well as to their colleagues on the expedition, sounded from the KASUPSS flight control technical complex located at the Cosmonaut Training Center.
Head of the Yu.A. Gagarin Pavel Vlasov congratulated the astronauts on the upcoming holidays, and NASA astronaut Kathleen Rubins – Happy Christmas.
Yuri Malenchenko, Advisor to the Head of the Center, Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation, wished the crew to successfully complete the expedition program and reminded that the outgoing year was very important for each of them.
The words of farewell to the ISS-64 crew, as well as New Year’s greetings to all foreign colleagues working at the station, were conveyed by Russian Pilot-Cosmonaut Valery Korzun. Valery Grigorievich recalled how he himself met the winter holidays in orbit during his first flight, and also reminded the crew about New Year’s traditions at the station.
Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev joined the New Year’s greetings. Oleg Germanovich conveyed good wishes from his colleagues in the detachment and highly appreciated the well-coordinated work of the crew. In turn, the ISS-64 crew thanked those present for their congratulations and wished them a festive mood, health, and successful work in space and on Earth.
