The ruble exchange rate showed steady growth against the dollar and against the euro at the beginning of 2021 against the background of the renewal of oil prices to the maximums since March 2020. This was reported on Monday, January 4, by Prime citing the data of Moscow Exchange a>.
The dollar rate by calculations “tomorrow” at 10:17 am on Monday fell by 69 kopecks – to 73.72 rubles. The euro rate fell by 1.09 rubles to 90.42 rubles. In turn, March futures for Brent crude rose by 2.3 percent to $ 53 per barrel.
Previously it was reported that the ruble at the end of 2020 fell against dollar by 16.7 percent. At the end of the year, the exchange rate was 74.42 rubles, and a year earlier – 61.99 rubles. In March, the dollar rose sharply by almost a third and reached 81.97 rubles. In relation to the euro, the Russian currency fell by 24.1 percent. At the end of 2020, the euro exchange rate was 91.52 rubles.
