A UK resident who has recovered from COVID-19 spoke about the rare frightening symptoms she experienced while fighting the infection. Her words are quoted by Daily Star .
Felicity Collinson, 39, said she was diagnosed with the coronavirus on Christmas Day, December 24. The woman hoped that she would be able to easily endure the disease due to her good physical shape and young age, but in reality her condition has seriously worsened.
In addition to such common symptoms as fever, cough and headaches, the British woman is faced with much rarer manifestations of the coronavirus. She experienced dizziness, nausea, trembling, and severe eye pain. In addition, Collinson’s neck was swollen, which she said was intimidating.
“The glands under my jaw swelled like Frankenstein’s. It looked like I had half an apple under my neck. Lips dry and scaly. Eyes were bloodshot,” the woman described her symptoms.
According to her, she felt worst of all on the eighth day after the diagnosis. The woman’s condition began to improve only on the tenth day of the course of the disease.
In December, doctors in the USA discovered a new rare but dangerous symptom of coronavirus , which was observed in several patients with COVID-19 in New York. For two months, doctors in New York recorded three cases when patients infected with coronavirus developed a symptom such as keratitis – inflammation of the cornea. Later, the infection in all three of them spread to the inner membranes of the eyeball, causing endophthalmitis.
