The indexation of pensions for working pensioners, the issue of which is entrusted to work out by the government, can affect all nine million citizens falling under this definition, or only by category. The scale of possible indexing was revealed in an interview with RIA Novosti the first deputy chairman of the committee Federation Council on social policy Valery Ryazanskiy .
The indexation law can be passed by both chambers of parliament by March, if the government makes appropriate amendments to the State Duma , said the senator. According to him, indexing may require about nine billion rubles a month.
Kremlin January 4 released a list of instructions from President Vladimir Putin, according to which the government was instructed to submit proposals on the indexation of pensions for working pensioners by February 1. The prime minister has been appointed responsible for this issue Mikhail Mishustin .
On December 29, Putin agreed to consider the issue of indexing the pensions of working pensioners. He agreed to think about it in response to the proposal of the chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) Mikhail Shmakov , who asked the president to return to this topic and possibly give instructions to the government. “You are absolutely right that this is an issue that requires additional consideration,” Putin commented.
The Mishustin government and Ministry of Finance in 2020 officially opposed the indexation of pensions for working pensioners. This issue was also worked out in the government Dmitry Medvedev in 2018-2019, but then the Cabinet of Ministers came to the conclusion that there is no money for this.
