Dentist warned of harmful effects of alcohol on teeth

Excessive alcohol consumption can negatively affect dental health. In particular, lead to premature aging of the oral cavity. A specialist in reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry and implantology warned about this in an interview with the radio Sputnik Dmitry Smirnov .

“All organs in the oral cavity: gums, teeth, and bone tissue need good blood supply. And alcohol disrupts this process, which is why regular and excessive consumption of alcohol wears out and ages our entire dentition faster,” he explained Smirnov, advising not to abuse.

The expert stressed that it is better for doctors to show up in advance and come for a preventive examination, and not for treatment. This is especially true during the holidays: if a tooth hurts during the weekend, there will be no place to treat it – most dentistry is closed.

Earlier, the American dentist Suhail Mohiuddin told that ordinary toothbrushes accumulate many bacteria. Rinsing under the tap is not enough to destroy them. It is better to wash the brush with soap or a special solution after each use, the doctor advised.
