Scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told what the weather will be for residents of the European part of Russia in the next few days in an interview with RT.
According to him, from Monday, January 4, the thermometer will be mainly in the negative zone. On Tuesday, January 5, during the day, temperatures are expected in the range of minus two to minus three degrees, and at night – from minus three to minus five. From the middle of the week, during the daytime the air temperature will be about five to six degrees below zero, and at night – from minus five to minus ten.
“This is a mild winter option, of course, the temperature is above normal, but significantly lower than the temperature background that was on January 1, 2, and so on,” Vilfand said. The weather forecaster also added that there is no need to wait for the harsh Christmas cold.
Earlier, Vilfand reported that in January 2021 in some regions of Russia the temperature will be above normal. According to him, the territory of the Leningrad, Tver, Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Novgorod, Murmansk regions, Karelia, Crimea, the west of Krasnodar and the north of Krasnoyarsk territories, as well as the north-west of Yakutia, will be warmer than the norm. Abnormal cold weather is expected in the Amur, Tomsk, Omsk, Kemerovo and Novosibirsk regions, as well as in the Altai, Trans-Baikal, Primorsky Territories and Buryatia. In other regions, the temperature will almost coincide with the norm.
