Saudi Arabia lifted the travel ban due to the “British” strain of the coronavirus, reports the Saudi Press Agency citing the Saudi Arabian Ministry of the Interior.
From January 3, the country will open its borders to those arriving from other countries. However, according to the new rules, citizens of other states who have visited the UK, South Africa and other countries where the new strain of the virus has spread over the past 14 days will not be able to enter the country. Also, all foreigners wishing to enter Saudi Arabia will be required to provide negative PCR test results and spend three to 14 days in self-isolation.
December 21, Saudi Arabia closed land borders and stopped air traffic due to the risk of a new strain of coronavirus, first reported in the UK.
