According to him, this is the final chapter of “an incompetent, brutal and divisive administration that has trampled on the Constitution and the rule of law at every turn.
“We will not allow President Trump, members of Congress who are helping him, or the criminal mob that stormed our nation’s Capitol, steal our democracy,” the governor said.
Protesters broke into the Capitol building and surrounded the Senate Hall on January 6. The Senate and House of Representatives have interrupted the meeting, which was planned to approve the results of the electoral college vote. According to these results, the Democrat Joe Biden won the presidential elections. Trump himself has called on supporters to act peacefully and support the police. Later, the Capitol building in Washington was cleared of protesters.
