US President Donald Trump called on his protesters who broke into the Capitol building in Washington, act peacefully and support the police. He wrote about this in his Twitter -account.
“Please support our metropolitan police and law enforcement officers. They really are on the side of our country. Stay peaceful!”, the head of state addressed the protesters.
Earlier, Trump’s supporters clashed with police near the Capitol in Washington. The police used tear gas and non-lethal weapons to disperse them, several people were injured. Protesters burst in a> into the building and surrounded the Senate Hall. The Senate and House of Representatives suspended the meeting.
