Trump supporters clash with police in Washington

Clashes between supporters of the current US President Donald Trump with the police took place in Washington on the eve approval by Congress of the election results, reports USA Today.

According to the newspaper’s estimates, hundreds of people gathered near the White House, many waving American flags. In the middle of the protest, there was a lively sale of T-shirts and caps with the words “Stop Theft” and “Trump is my President.”

Police detained six demonstrators for carrying unlicensed firearms and attacking officers. The protests are a “prelude” to the main protests scheduled for Wednesday. Trump is expected to attend.

Earlier Trump said that thousands of people who oppose victories in the presidential elections of “left-wing Democrats” flooded Washington. According to him, citizens who have arrived in the city will not allow the elected president Joe Biden and his supporters to “steal the victory” of the Republicans in the elections. Trump noted that US residents “will no longer tolerate this.”

On November 3, 2020, the next presidential elections were held in the United States. The counting of votes and the proceedings on this issue are still ongoing. According to the media, Biden received the necessary number of electoral votes to win, thus surpassing the current American leader Donald Trump. The democrat has already proclaimed himself the elected president of the United States. Trump, in turn, said that Biden was quick to call himself the country’s new leader.
