Doctor warned about risk of hypothermia during winter walks

General practitioner Anna Zemlyanukhina warned Russians about the risk of hypothermia during winter walks. She spoke about this in an interview with RT.

To avoid hypothermia, the specialist advised first of all to dress warmly and according to the weather. “Shoes should be one in which the feet do not sweat too much. There are also, for example, heated insoles or gloves,” she said. In addition, in the cold, in no case should you abuse alcoholic beverages, the doctor warned. It is better to bring tea or coffee in a thermos to keep warm.

Zemlyanukhina stressed that while walking in the cold, one should not overestimate one’s capabilities. Sometimes a person may feel that it is actually hot, as a result of which he spends too much time outside and is hypothermic. And if a person freezes, you need to go somewhere and get warm, she added.

Earlier, doctors told about the rules of skating in a pandemic. In particular, the Russians were advised not to change clothes on the street, since this could lead to hypothermia and illness. In addition, hypothermia can be obtained by simply standing and not rolling.
