Russian political scientist, associate professor at the Higher School of Economics ( HSE ) Andrey Suzdaltsev reacted to “the plans of the State Security Committee ( KGB ) Belarus” to kill him. This was announced on Tuesday, January 5, by the “Rise” edition in its Telegram -channel.
According to him, it is necessary to write a statement to the investigating authorities if all legal grounds are serious enough. In addition, it should be done if “there really is some appeal to [Igor] Makar, who turns out to be like a witness”.
The political scientist added that if Russia begins to openly respond to the statements made by the former deputy commander of the combat group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ( Ministry of Internal Affairs ) Belarus “Almaz” Igor Makar, then relations with the President of Belarus will change Alexander Lukashenko .
“We have difficult relations with Belarus, we had a lot of things. The hunt for citizens has already happened. There is nothing to be surprised at. But in general, this will be an unhappy public decision on the part of Russia, in Minsk they will be unhappy. They are used to some impunity. they do what they want, ”he said.
Earlier it became known that a former employee of the (KGB) of Belarus Igor Makar declared his readiness to testify in the case of the murder of a journalist Pavel Sheremet to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. He confirmed that in December 2020 he handed over a recording to the Ukrainian side, which allegedly recorded a conversation of the former head of the KGB of Belarus Vadim Zaitsev about the murder of a journalist.
Later it was reported that Makar has information about the planned “physical elimination” Andrey Suzdaltsev. “This is not on the record, but it will be confirmed by my source personally in court. I really hope that the Russian Federation will react to this,” he said.
Pavel Sheremet died in Kiev in 2016 when his car was blown up. In Ukraine, three participants in the war in Donbass were detained and accused of organizing the murder. According to the investigation, they wanted to destabilize the situation in the country.
