The Akademik Chersky pipelayer left the construction site of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. This is evidenced by the data of the portal for tracking ships Marine Traffic.
At the same time, it was reported on January 6 that the Akademik Chersky pipelayer returned to the site of the gas pipeline construction. Prior to that, the ship had been standing near Kaliningrad for almost a month. Presumably, “Akademik Chersky” is returning to the Russian port again.
Earlier, the Danish energy agency reported that the laying of Nord Stream-2 in Danish waters would resume on January 15th. The agency received a schedule for the further construction of Nord Stream 2 from Nord Stream 2 AG.
The gas pipeline from Russia to Germany was supposed to be completed at the end of 2019, but this was prevented by US sanctions. The project deadline has been postponed indefinitely.
