Russia has developed a drug from birch and lichen bark for the prevention of coronavirus. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to its developer, chief researcher at the Institute for Biological Problems of Permafrost, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Boris Kershengolts.

According to him, Yakut scientists have completed the second phase of clinical trials of the drug “Betukladin” against the virus. Kershengolts said that the incidence among those who lived with those infected with the coronavirus was 13 times lower among those taking the drug compared to the rest.

Doctor of Biological Sciences noted that dietary supplements also help patients in the acute period of the disease: its intake reduces the duration and severity of the acute phase by 45-53 percent. In addition, Betukladin helps to rehabilitate those who have suffered from the virus. It helps to cope with the effects of the coronavirus, such as fatigue and depression.

Earlier, Chinese doctors reported that three quarters of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 have lingering symptoms and complications caused by the disease. According to experts, 63 percent of patients complain of fatigue or muscle weakness for a long time after the illness. 26 percent report sleep problems, and 23 percent report anxiety or depression.
