A Reddit user anonymously told how he took the tip left by the waitress because of her unprofessional behavior and two tactless questions. The Daily Mirror newspaper reports.
A man was having dinner with a friend at a local Chinese restaurant. He explained that due to restrictions due to COVID-19, they had to book a table and place an order through the website. According to him, the waitress approached them only once, when she brought food. The narrator and his friend had no other contact with the staff.
The bill came out at $ 30 (2.2 thousand rubles), and the man decided to leave a little more than 15 percent of the tip, having reported on top of $ 5 (about 370 rubles). The visitor stressed that the dishes he ordered were delicious.
The waitress took a check with cash from the clients’ table and left. As the narrator and his friend were about to leave, the employee returned with a five-dollar bill and asked, “Did you not like the food? Where is the rest of the tip?” The guest did not like the manner in which the waitress spoke to him, so he took the bill and left the establishment without saying a word.
“At that moment, we both decided that the waitress’s behavior was unacceptable, because she acted as if we had left her nothing at all,” he noted. “We hardly had any contact with the waitress who caused the conflict. She brought I’m going to eat, and that’s it. ” The man asked netizens if he did the right thing.
“In your case, the difference between a 15 percent and 20 percent tip was only a dollar, so I don’t know how much she expected to get?” – the commentators were indignant. “15 percent is quite enough, and you left even more. I did the right thing by taking the tip from this waitress,” wrote other users. “I’m glad you took five dollars back … And she was lucky that you didn’t ask her to fire her, although she deserved it,” others agreed.
Earlier it was reported that in the American city of Ruskin, Florida, a visitor to the South Shore Pizza left 2020 dollars (about 150 thousand rubles) as a tip to the waiter. Netizens praised the client for his good deed.
