First case of gorilla infection with coronavirus becomes known

The zoo in the American city of San Diego has reported the world’s first case of gorilla infection with coronavirus. ABC 7 reports this.

In the safari park, it is believed that eight animals have contracted the virus. Representatives of the zoo note that some of them cough and display other symptoms of the disease. It is noted that, most likely, the primates were infected from a park employee who had had an asymptomatic coronavirus. The USDA National Veterinary Service laboratory also confirmed that the gorillas tested positive for the virus.

Earlier in Denmark, they decided to dig up and burn four million corpses of mink infected with coronavirus. The bodies will be exhumed no earlier than May 2021. This is due to the fact that the government of the country fears the threat of infection of people: in six months it should be minimized. At the same time, some parliamentarians oppose such a decision and propose to immediately dig up minks and store their bodies in slurry tanks.
