Democrats in the US House of Representatives secured support for a resolution of impeachment to incumbent President Donald Trump. This is reported by Politico, citing sources in the US Congress.
According to the American edition, 218 congressmen will support the resolution in the lower house of parliament. This should be enough for it to be adopted by a majority of the House of Representatives.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the resolution will be put to a vote unless Trump resigns or Vice President Mike Pence terminates his presidency. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, in turn, said that Congressmen could approve the resolution as early as Wednesday.
On January 11, the US House of Representatives issued a resolution to impeach the current President of the country, Donald Trump. The politician is accused of inciting insurgency and for “seriously endangering the security of the United States and government institutions.” According to members of the House of Representatives, Trump remains a threat to national security and democracy, because of this he should be removed from office.
