A domestic cat ran away from a tourist and wandered in ceiling of airport for 11 days

A black-and-white cat named Mooji ran away from its owner and wandered for 11 days in the ceiling of the American LaGuardia airport, located in New York on the shores of Flushing Bay. The New York Post reports.

Taylor Le was planning to move with her six-year-old pet on Christmas Eve from New York to Orange County, California. At the checkpoint, the traveler was asked to get Mooji out of the carrier, although the woman warned that the cat might escape. As a result, just as Lee expected, the pet panicked and fled from its hands.

The owner and airport staff tried to catch up with Mooji, but he climbed into the hole in the ceiling and disappeared. The tourist had to fly to California without a cat.

Lee posted a missing pet announcement on Facebook, to which an organization looking for missing animals responded. They sent a specially trained sniffer dog to the airport – a golden retriever named Abby. The dog looked around the airport and made it clear that Mooji was still hiding in the ceiling.

The owner of the cat flew back to New York and tried to lure him out, but the pet did not react. Finally, 11 days after escaping, Mooji was trapped and caught. Lee reunited with her pet after he was examined at the veterinary clinic, and on January 9, they flew safely to California.

Earlier it was reported that the Siamese cat, missing in the English county of Cumbria, returned to the owners after six years. The animal got to the staff of the veterinary clinic, who managed to find the owners thanks to the microchip.
