Kazakhstan was forced to suspend oil transit through Russia, Interfax writes about this with reference to the words of the representative of Transneft Igor Demin.
Severe frosts became the reason. Because of them, in the north of Kazakhstan, two regions were de-energized, including an oil pumping station that supplies oil to the Transneft system.
Demin also noted that there were 47 restrictions on oil delivery to the system in the first days of January due to abnormally low temperatures in Siberian fields. They may be compensated by the end of the month, a Transneft spokesman said.
Earlier it became known that Russia and Kazakhstan will increase oil production in February and March due to the share of Saudi Arabia. This agreement was reached by the OPEC + countries. Saudi production will decrease by 75 thousand barrels per day. This share will go to Russia and Kazakhstan in the proportion of 65 thousand and ten thousand barrels per day, respectively.
