Armenian Ministry of Health evaluates Russian Covid-19 vaccine

The Ministry of Health of Armenia has not detected a single case of post-vaccination reactions among residents of the country who were vaccinated with the Russian drug for the Sputnik V coronavirus. “Sputnik Armenia” writes about this with reference to the press service of the department.

The ministry said that the Armenian specialists highly appreciated the vaccine. High officials of the department headed by the Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan were among the first in the country to receive it. In particular, he stated that after vaccination he experienced slight weakness for a short time, although his deputy did not show any adverse reactions.

It is noted that currently Yerevan is negotiating with Russia on the purchase of new batches of the drug, the terms and volumes of its deliveries have not yet been announced. “The Ministry of Health expresses its deep gratitude to Russia for mutually beneficial cooperation in the fight against infectious diseases,” the press service said.

Armenia received the first samples of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 on November 21. They were handed over to the republic by the Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko. During his visit to the country, he noted that Russian specialists are also ready to provide their Armenian colleagues with practical and advisory assistance in the treatment of patients with COVID-19.

According to the latest data, 162,288 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Armenia, almost three thousand patients have died, and almost 150 thousand have recovered.
