New requirements for cigarettes in Russia called dangerous

Self-extinguishing cigarettes can be hazardous to health. The risks of their use were named by the president of the Russian Cigar Union, executive director of the All-Russian public movement for the rights of smokers, Andrei Loskutov, Izvestia reports.

According to Loskutov, a ring that will be inserted into a cigarette so that it decays without puffing will lead to the fact that the person will have to make more effort to carry out the puff.

Thus, the smoke will enter the lungs deeper than without the ring, moving to the lower sections with low ventilation, said Loskutov.

Earlier, Rinat Yenikeev, director of the Department for Supervision and Preventive Work of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, said that the department, together with the Ministry of Health, would prepare new requirements for cigarettes so that they would be self-extinguishing. He expressed hope that the corresponding standard will be approved in Russia in two years.
