Case about disappearance of fighter against “Kadyrov’s dictatorship” was initiated from fourth time

In the Krasnodar Territory, the fourth time, after three refusals, investigators opened a criminal case on the disappearance of a fighter against the “Kadyrov’s dictatorship” Salman Tepsurkaev, who was tortured with a bottle. This was reported by the human rights organization “Committee against Torture” on its website.

The case under clause “a” of part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Abduction of a person committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy”) was initiated on November 27, 2020, the “Committee against Torture” received a notification about this at the end of December. p>

Krasnodar investigators sent materials of the check on the abduction of Tepsurkaev to Chechnya, since the car of the alleged abductors crossed the border of the republic, but the Chechen law enforcement agencies refused three times, including due to lack of corpus delicti. The criminal case was initiated following an additional check.

The kidnapping in Gelendzhik of a 19-year-old resident of Chechnya Salman Tepsurkaev, moderator of the opposition Telegram channel 1ADAT, who positions himself as an opponent of the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov, became known in early September 2020. Then a video appeared on the Internet, which captured his torture and torture with a bottle. In the same video, he apologizes, claiming that he is punishing himself for his activities, and passes the baton to the channel’s administrators. The “Committee against Torture” claimed evidence of the involvement of the law enforcement agencies of Chechnya in the crime.

As Novaya Gazeta wrote, there is evidence that Tepsurkaev was kidnapped by residents of Chechnya. According to the newspaper, the young man was at the Terek SOBR base in Grozny. Later, Tepsurkaev’s father recorded two videos in which he stated that he had disowned his son because of disobedience several years ago and had no complaints against the republic’s authorities.
