Shark attacked a seven-year-old boy

Near the Australian city of Geelong, Victoria, a shark attacked a seven-year-old boy. The Daily Mail reports.

On Monday, January 11, the child swam off Thirteenth Beach, a famous surfing spot. Suddenly a shark pounced on him and bit him on the leg. Rescue helicopters and paramedics immediately arrived at the scene, the boy was taken to the hospital. The doctors reported that his condition was stable despite serious injury.

45 minutes after the incident, the beach was closed for swimming, volunteer lifeguards helped all visitors to get out of the water. The rescue helicopter never found the shark.

The state has warned people to stay out of water in nearby towns.

Victoria State Rescue Director Kane Treloar has advised swimmers to avoid swimming in muddy or muddy water. “Never swim near river estuaries or storm water drains after rain, or at dusk, at night or before dawn,” he said.
