The Lithuanian authorities will soon prepare a plan for a complete blockade of electricity from the Belarusian nuclear power plant launched in the town of Ostrovets. Energy Minister Dainius Kreivis announced this, Delfi reports.
The plan agreed between departments will appear in late January or early February. According to the minister, the “anti-island” law adopted by Vilnius is not being implemented, since Latvia is still trading in Belarusian electricity, which is supplied to Lithuania.
“The State Energy Regulatory Service has clearly stated that the electricity supplied to Lithuania today is purchased from Belarus at the Riga Stock Exchange, and this violates the law. The fact remains: Latvians trade in Belarusian electricity,” said Kreivis. p >
BelNPP was launched on November 7. Lithuania considers it a threat to its national security and the environment, as well as a geopolitical project for Russia.
