The Mayor of Yakutsk Sardana Avksentieva, who previously announced her resignation, after leaving the post will become an advisor to the head of the city on a voluntary basis. She revealed her new position on the page at Instagram.
According to Avksentieva, despite leaving her post, she, like all citizens, is not indifferent to who will lead the city. She stated that she agreed with the proposal of the future interim head of the city Yevgeny Grigoriev to become his adviser, but only on a voluntary basis. “I will stay in the ranks of the city team, I will pass the baton evenly,” the mayor wrote.
She also announced that direct elections of the mayor will be held this spring and urged residents of the city to be active, not indifferent and not to stay away.
On January 11, Avksentieva announced her early resignation due to her health condition. She admitted that she could no longer work 24 hours a day all year round. Soon the head of the city is going to go to the hospital, where she will undergo surgery. The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, wished the head of the city a speedy recovery and said that he understood her decision.
