Russia should offer the United States to sign a statement on the inadmissibility of nuclear war after the inauguration of the new American President Joe Biden. This was stated by the former president of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, after the administration of the Democrat comes to power, Moscow should resume the initiative so that the countries confirm the formula on the inadmissibility of nuclear war, which is enshrined in the statement following the Soviet-American summit in Geneva. “By the way, Russia recently offered the Americans to confirm this formula,” Gorbachev recalled.
The main conclusion of his meeting with US President Ronald Reagan in 1985 was recorded in a joint statement: “Nuclear war is unacceptable, there can be no winner. The sides will not strive for military superiority.”
