Boeing 737 crash site found in Java Sea

The likely crash site of a Boeing 737 passenger plane was found in the Java Sea, divers reported wreckage at a depth of 23 meters. This is reported by the Associated Press with reference to the commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Hadi Tiajanto.

“We have received reports from the diving team that the visibility in the water is good, which allowed us to find some parts of the plane. We are sure that this is where the plane crashed,” Tiajanto said.

According to Flight Radar, a flight of the Indonesian airline Sriwijaya Air, en route from Jakarta to Potianak, disappeared from radar four minutes after departure. Later it became known that the plane fell into the water.

59 people could have been on board, including at least six children. According to other information , 62 people flew on the plane, including 10 children and six crew members.
