The mother of a former employee GRU Sergei Skripal Elena died at the age of 93 after being hospitalized with suspected coronavirus. His niece Victoria spoke about this RIA Novosti .
According to her, the Russian woman died on Thursday, January 7, at five o’clock. Skripal was in the intensive care unit of Yaroslavl with 25 percent lung damage. “The doctors warned us that the case was difficult: age, diabetes mellitus, arrhythmia. Grandmother was on oxygen support, her saturation was constantly jumping,” explained Victoria.
Skripal’s niece explained that she could not inform his family about the death of a relative. She asked her acquaintances to contact the British Embassy, where they promised to promptly transfer this information to Sergei and his daughter Yulia.
The woman was hospitalized on December 30. A day earlier, her temperature rose to 40 degrees, an ambulance was called twice and she was taken to a paid CT scan – the city hospital was allegedly refused due to lack of quotas. Doctors tested her for COVID-19, but the results are still unknown. At the same time, the niece’s test for coronavirus was positive.
