Available interim release of the project OpenZFS 2.0.1 , which develops the ZFS file system implementation for Linux and FreeBSD. The project became known as “ZFS on Linux” and was previously limited to developing a module for the Linux kernel, but after the transfer of support for FreeBSD, it was recognized as the main implementation of OpenZFS and was removed from the mention of Linux in the name. OpenZFS has been tested with Linux kernels 3.10 through 5.10 (last release supported kernels from 2.6.32) and FreeBSD 12.2, stable / 12 and 13.0 (HEAD) branches. The code is distributed under the free CDDL license.
In addition to the fixes added after the significant release of OpenZFS 2.0, the version 2.0.1 added support for Linux 5.10 kernel and prepared to support future 5.11 kernel. Improved FreeBSD support, including sharing the zfs_fsync, zfs_read, and zfs_write code on Linux and FreeBSD. Implemented compatibility with Autoconf 2.70 toolkit and mktemp command from BusyBox package. Fixed several memory leaks. Reduced latency for non-interactive I / O.
