Zelensky bans Russian courts from walking on rivers of Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky banned Russian ships from walking on the rivers of Ukraine. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing the press service of the head of state’s office.

Zelensky signed the law “On Inland Water Transport”, which regulates relations in the field of shipping on the territory of Ukraine. The document prohibits “ships flying the flag of the aggressor state” from walking along the country’s rivers. It is noted that this law is aimed at implementing the basic requirements of the Association Agreement with the European Union (EU ).

Earlier, Zelensky appreciated the possibility of a full-scale war with Russia and described the scenario how such a conflict will go. “Let’s hope this is impossible. Otherwise there will be a big war. We will not go anywhere, we will all fight, everyone will be mobilized: both men and women. It will be bad for the population of Ukraine. And I think Russia understands this very well.” , – said the president.

In 2014, Crimea became part of Russia after a referendum on the peninsula, during which the majority of local residents supported this decision. In the same year, part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions declared independence from Ukraine. Kiev tried to return Donbass by force, but to no avail.

The Ukrainian authorities believe that Russia has occupied Crimea and the districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions not under their control. Moscow rejects claims.
