Scientific Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand spoke about the weather in the European part of Russia for the New Year. His words are conveyed by TASS .
As Vilfand explained, on New Year’s Eve, a cyclone and an anticyclone will actively interact over the capital region. Because of this, there will be a “temperature gradient” in the European part of Russia: at a distance of thousands of kilometers, the temperature will differ by 15-20 degrees. “In the west of Moscow it will be warm, and in the east it will be cold, although the distance is not great at all,” said the forecaster.
In particular, in Tver and Bryansk regions the air temperature will be from zero to plus four degrees. At the same time, in Nizhny Novgorod, Tatarstan and other neighboring regions, it is expected from eight to 16 degrees below zero.
Earlier, the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia predicted that in Moscow on December 31, temperatures are expected to plus four degrees and precipitation in the form of snow and rain.
