Primorye: damage from a cyclone with freezing rain was assessed

The preliminary damage from the ice cyclone in the Primorsky Territory amounted to more than one billion rubles. This was stated by the head of the region Oleg Kozhemyako , RIA Novosti .

“The final amount of losses incurred from the disaster will be known after the end of all liquidation measures. We plan to complete them by February 2021,” Kozhemyako said. He added that for two weeks the residents of the region worked at their limit.

The head of the region also said that more than 300 million rubles were allocated from the reserve fund of the Primorsky Territory government for the elimination of the emergency.

The cyclone hit Primorye on the night of November 19. The freezing rain damaged power lines and knocked down trees. Some residents were left without electricity, heat and water. Regional authorities have declared a state of emergency. A Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the damage from a cyclone in Primorye colossal.
